What exactly is Plato's Closet and how does it function?
Plato's Closet holds an annual auction of clothing and household items to benefit the Whaley Center. The event is open to the public for free. The event will take place on Saturday, January 20 between 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The sale features clothes for men, children and women, bedding, household items and other accessories. There is also an array of music CDs and DVDs.
The proceeds from Plato's Closet are used to fund the programs and services of the Whaley Center that promote art and education as well as culture. These include concerts, lectures exhibitions, workshops in creative writing, photography and filmmaking.
