Gloucester attorney will stand on trial to misrepresent allegations made by the judiciary – Stroud Information and Journal

A 41-year-old Dursley attorney has denied tampering with legal proceedings by forging documents at a family court hearing and making a false statement under oath.

Stuart Dodd of Uley Road in Dursley pleaded guilty to two allegations in Gloucester Crown Court last Friday of altering a legal document and of using the forged document as affidavit in court.

Judge Ian Lawrie QC said that because Mr Dodd would likely be known to judges in Bristol and the West, as well as Worcestershire and Birmingham, he would have to be tried elsewhere.

Dodd has been told his trial could take place in Truro, Plymouth or Exeter if his case remained in western legal jurisdiction – or he could go as far as South Wales or the Newcastle area.

Mr Dodd was released on bail to attend a case management hearing in Gloucester Court on October 29 to learn where his eight day trial will take place.
