On the latest installment of the Jabot podcast, I’m talking to writer and lawyer Robyn Gigl, who is releasing a legal thriller – By Way for Sorrow – in late March. We talk about Robyn’s long-standing dream of becoming a writer and how she has reconciled her legal practice with writing. We also look at Robyn’s process of developing the characters in her novel. And she has tips for aspiring writers out there. In addition to being an attorney and writer, Robyn is a public speaker and activist recognized by the ACLU-NJ and the NJ Pride Network for her work on behalf of the LGBTQIA + community. We talk about their activism and about being one of the founding members of the Trans Affirming Alliance.
The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law brand that focuses on the challenges women, colored people, LGBTQIA and other diverse populations face in the legal industry. Our name comes from none other than the infamous Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative collar) she wore when she delivered dissidents from the bank. It’s a reminder that we are a powerful force to reckon with even when we don’t win.
Have fun while listening!
