People pull the lawyer with them, but from my understanding of the traffic court, this guy probably had to show up in the middle of the cut to even get any redress. If he had asked for a new date, they probably would have just given a default judgment and moved on because the institution exists primarily as a formality for appropriating people’s money.
Look in the mirror: A cool new tool from LexisNexis allows you to glimpse opposing attorneys, but I think the more interesting experiment will be to look it up yourself. A large company should go through all of its employees and see if there are any obvious consistency issues.
