Irish lawyer Aedamar Comiskey has been elected to lead Linklaters LLP
Irish lawyer Aedamar Comiskey was elected as the new senior partner of the Magic Circle company Linklaters LLPand became the first woman to run the global law firm.
Monaghan-born Ms. Comiskey from London studied law at the University College Dublin (UCD), joined Linklaters 29 years ago as a trainee and was elected partner in 2001.
She is currently the company’s global director and will succeed the current senior partner Charlie Jacobs on July 1, 2021 for a term of five years.
Ms. Comiskey said, “I am very proud to have been elected as the company’s first Senior Partner. It’s an honor and a privilege. Thank you to my colleagues for their trust in me – I intend to implement the vision set out in my manifesto.
“I want Linklaters to stand out as a law firm with the best minds in the industry with really different backgrounds and different perspectives to help solve the complex challenges companies and society face today.
“And when we start out of lockdown, we will focus on nurturing the drive, ambition and creativity of our high-performing teams around the world to deliver great results to our world-class customers.”
Linklaters reportedly plans to open an office in Dublin soon.
