One after the other, the Biglaw dominoes with special bonuses continue to fall. Since Davis Polk saw his hallmark in getting over the top, it has become apparent that other companies should jump into the bonus matching game. In case it’s not already clear, the latest company to offer special bonuses to its employees is a leader in intellectual property.
This afternoon, Fish & Richardson announced to staff that they were going to shower them with extra cash. This is great news considering the company skipped the first round of COVID recognition bonuses. This is what the bonuses look like in the company (the full memo is on the next page):
Employees will receive payments in April and October and will receive further eligibility details at a meeting next week. At this point, all we know is that it is given to employees with good reputations and that the money comes in addition to the regular year-end bonuses. Congratulations to everyone at Fish!
