MACHAKOS, Kenya, Oct. 23 – A Makueni police officer who fatally injured a lawyer will be in police custody for an additional nineteen days pending a metal assessment and COVID-19 screening.
Nancy Njeri attacked Makueni attorney Onesmus Masaku and cut his hands. The attorney succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital on October 18.
Machakos High Court deputy chancellor Evans Kihago also said the verdict was based on the diary of criminal cases pending in court.
"I am well informed that the criminal cases will take place in the 2nd week of November 2020," said Kihago.
"There are also some outstanding issues that need to be cleared by the investigator, including post mortem and testimony recording," he added.
Njeri is expected to make a plea on November 10th.
Masaku will be buried on Saturday October 24th in the village of Ngonda, Tala, Machakos County.
