Pooler, GA (August 10, 2020) – Around 4 p.m. this afternoon, a collision involving multiple vehicles occurred in Pooler.
The Georgia Department of Transportation confirmed that the accident took place in the eastbound lanes of I-16 when four vehicles suddenly collided with each other for unknown reasons. The accident led to severe damages in the vehicles involved and happened around the area of an accident involving two vehicles.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the collision where they assisted those with injuries. The injured victims were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
The Pooler Police Department confirmed that both lanes on each side of the highway were closed in the area, which led to a variety of delays.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
